TWO SEMI FINAL ENTRYS AND ONE COMMENDATION IN 2009 UK SONGWRITERS CONTEST

I am pleased to announce that I went one better than last year and got two semi final entrys into the 2009 UK Songwriters Contest in the instrumental section. The two compisitions in question are Excalibur Return of the King and Snowflake (In My Mind) from the Excalibur Album. Smitten entered into the Contempory Adult section got a commended entry and was taken from the ballads album.
I will send these compositions to music libraries to see whether people wish to use them for commercial purposes soon.

SEMI FINAL AND TWO COMMENDED RESULTS FOR UK SGONWRITERS CONTEST 2008

Four songs were entered into the Uk Songwriting Contest 2008. The songs were:
1066 - Instrumentul - result Semi Finalist in that category
Your Not Alone - Adult Contempary - result Comended entry
What's Going On - Adult Contempary - result Comended entry
Love & Tears - Country + Folk - result participation entry
I was very pleased with the results and the scoring for my songs, intrumentul pieces as I have worked hard over the last year on my Ballads Album. In retrospect Love & Tears could or should have also been entered into adult contempary.

BALLADS ALBUM FINISHED!!!

 I regret the long delay in updating this blog. I have been very busy finishing songs, production and getting the Ballads songs as up to date as possible. I can now say that the album has been finished and all that is needed is some artwork for the cover!!! I am very happy and proud of this album as they are the best produced songs I have done to date and I have learnt so much in both music and mixing and production in order to get this album finished.
My Wife, father and brother have been a huge support to me and their comments and insights have helped me with the album. I have also had some of the songs vetted profetionally and have received good reviews on all songs submitted which I am very happy with.
In other news I have submitted four songs to the UK songwriters contest and I am looking forward to feedback on my songs from there to.
I would also like to thank the folks at the independant forums for their comments and the Bard of Ely for his comments and also his excellent vocals on Love & Tears, thank you all.
I will be trying to pramote these and my other songs to publishers and music libraries. In addition I have about six tunes (mixture of instrumental and new songs) that I currently play on my keyboard. I'm quite pleased with that because thats allready half an albums worth of material allready.

REGARDING NEW LOOK WEB SITE AND OTHER NEWS

 You may be wondering why the revamp look of the website. Or you may have relaised that my past blog entries have gone. In short due to a fire (three hard disks fried in my computer) I lost my client side website. With help from Miro from EZgenerator Forums I was able to rebuild this web site. I made some improvements and deleted some unused, or unnecessary pages. Unfortunately this has also had an effect on my music to. As the original mixes have been lost although I have most of the music ready to be re-mixed ready to put back into Tracktion 2.
This will set me back some. Although I was intending to re-mix many of the songs in any case. So please bare with me if there are not many blog posts or new tracks for a couple of months as I will be be re-doing most of my songs + creating new ones. When I do post though I expect to upload three or four new songs that will finish off the album.
